April 2005
Unable to pay the first and last month's rent - not to mention the security deposit - Joan finally found a place of her own. She sleeps in the back of an old '78 Chevy and her "closet" is the rusted out trunk. When she came to The Cooperative Feeding, Joan had her only hot meal of the day and took a shower. We gave her some clean used clothing and she set off for a job interview our counselor had arranged through the Work Force One computer terminal we have in the lobby. Joan now has a job and soon, will have a real place of her own. The Cooperative Feeding Program - turning lives around, one at a time.
